ABOUT UCW
Union Carriage & Wagon (UCW) was established in 1957 as a partnership between Commonwealth Engineering of Australia with the Budd Company of the USA and Leyland. Construction of the factory at Nigel commenced in June 1958 and occupation took place in January 1959.

Corporate Social Investment

UCW recognises and embraces the need for sustainable social development. UCW Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities seek to:

  • Contribute towards addressing key issues by adding value to the immediate community in which we operate.
  • Create synergy between supported initiatives and UCW business operations in line with our strategy and values.
  • Focus on human resource development priorities as identified by industry charter in order to address the scarce skills gap.
